Khoirom bodies to further reinforce lockdown

Imphal, July 26 2020:
Youth Development Club (YDC), Khoirom and Khoirom Apunba Meira Paibi have joined hands to further reinforce the lockdown announced by the State Government in view of the rapid surge of COVID-19 cases in the State.
To realise their objective, the bodies have drawn 5 resolutions, said a statement of YDC.
As per the Statement, the bodies have decided to prohibit openings of all shops except shops selling essential items.
These shops vending essential items should adhere to safety guidelines such as compulsory use of face masks, hand sanitizer and hand gloves while those coming out to procure items must use face masks and maintain physical distance (1 m), it said.
The bodies also informed that entry of non residents to Khoirom village is banned with immediate effect and anybody wishing to enter the village must take permission from the bodies, the statement said.
Anybody found providing shelter to non locals will be punished, it continued.
The bodies also appealed to all money lenders, micro finance institutes and chit fund organisers to defer collection of interest, contributions etc in view of the curfew/lockdown till the situation improves.
The bodies are strictly against gatherings and use of intoxicants in the village during such a crucial time and those who defy and create unnecessary scenes will be dealt with severe actions, it continued.
