Awareness drive on Lifestyle Diseases and Medical Camp

Imphal, November 25 2017:
11 Assam Rifles of 26 Sector Assam Rifles under the aegis of IGAR (South) conducted an awareness drive on 'Lifestyle Diseases' followed by a 'Medical Camp' at Thangbung Minou village, Moreh on 24 Nov 2017 .
Initially a lecture was conducted by the Medical Officer of the unit on 'Lifestyle Diseases' which was attended by 52 locals including 18 males, 16 females and 18 children.

The Medical Officer highlighted the reasons and consequences of chronic 'lifestyle diseases' like Hypertension, Diabetes, Atherosclerosis, Obesity and Myocardial Ischemia.
The villagers were also informed of measures to avoid such diseases and benefits of a healthy lifestyle.
After the lecture, a medical camp was conducted, wherein a free medical checkup was organised followed by distribution of essential medicines.
