Imphal, June 23 2016:
Notwith-standing the clarification made by Parliamentary K Meghachandra, nurses and attendants of RIMS carried on their protests today too.
In a late evening development today, the matter was resolved.
Moreover, one attendant who was allegedly assaulted by the Parliamentary Secretary gave his testimony before media persons today.
He said that K Meghachandra came to visit a patient at 9.45 pm which was well past the visiting hours.
He was delayed for a few minutes as due communications were made.
However, after visiting the patient, the Parliamentary Secretary threatened and assaulted a male nurse and an attendant.
"Driven by fear, we folded hands and apologised to the Parliamentary Secretary", said the attendant.
Demanding apology from the Parliamentary Secretary himself, nurses and attendants staged a protest demonstration today.
With the nurses and attendants on stir mode, most of the in-patients undergoing treatment in different wards left the hospital.
OPD too remained closed and people undergoing treatment at casualty ward also went to other hospitals.
Even as a team of RIMS Nurses Association held a meeting with RIMS authority to resolve the matter the meeting ended without any breakthrough.
