Hoarungbam Bimola, vice-president of Imphal Municipal Corporation Ward No 3 Mahila Congress said that they are not against Joykishan joining the Congress party.
However, during the upcoming Assembly election, the party's ticket should be given to Jyotin Waikhom who has been working for the party for many years.
She said that they would resort to intense agitation if their demand is not met and added that they have taken the march to express their concern over the matter.
The supporters, on their way to Congress Bhawan, were stopped near MG Avenue junction by police.
Only ten selected individuals were allowed to proceed towards Congress Bhawan.
Since MPCC president TN Haokip was not available, Jyotin supporters met MPCC general secretary Bidyapati Senjam.
