Burglary in Presidency College

Properties worth about Rs 1.5 lakh have been stolen from Presidency College Motbung late last night.
A case has been register at Sapormeina PS this morning after Principal of the college, Dr T Gangte reported the matter.
The Principal said that two computer sets and one 5-kv Stabilizer were stolen from her office while one computer set was stolen from the Examination Confidential room after the respective doors and keys were damaged last night.
The Director, University and Higher Education, Govt of Manipur as well as the Village Authority of Motbung and Youth Club were also informed about the incident, the Principal said.
In the meantime, Students' Union Presidency College Motbung registered their strongest condemnation and termed it as "uncivilized act in a civilized world" .
The student body assured to render all possible efforts at all levels to save the college from such activities that could tarnish good image.
The student body also blame the absence of proper fencing in the college campus for such incident to happen.
Mention may be made that Higher Secondary Examina-tion conducted by COHSEM has been currently going on at the college.
Numerous robbery cases have also been reported currently at Motbung village, local sources said.
