Youth information centre inaugurated at Keishamthong Top Leirak

A youth health information centre has been inaugurated at Keishamthong Top Leirak today.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Shashi, General Secretary, Social Awareness Service Organization (SASO) as the Chief Guest, Manglem, President, Youth Club, Keishamthong Top Leirak as the functional President, Soraisham Ranju, Program Director of SASO and Kiran, Executive, Youth Club, Keishamthong Top Leirak as the Guest of honour.
The centre was initiated under Sexual Reproductive Health and Rights Project supported by European Union, Alliance India and Social Awareness Service Organization.
The project is implemented by Future Development Drug Users' Organization.
The main objective of the youth information centre is to create a platform in empowering the youths towards leading and advocating sexual health and reproductive health rights.
Program Manager Ksh Dinesh in his keynote speech stated that 30 youth groups have been initiated in Imphal East and Imphal West district of Manipur under this project.
The projects would strife in nurturing leadership among youths as a key agent for a favourable and youth friendly policy change, he added.
He said that the youth health information centre will provide free internet facilities, capacity building, referral services and recreational facilities.
General Secretary of SASO Shashi, expressed his concern in targeting the youths for a healthy society.
He said that we should all join hands in saving the pillars of our society as the current health status of our youths in our society is on the verge of going beyond our control.
The youth health information centre would open on Monday, Wednesday and Friday every week from 10 am to 4.30 pm.
