Imphal, May 16 2017:
Acting
on a complaint received at the
State Government's Anti-
Corruption Cell (ACC), one
Attendant of JNIMS Radiology
Department has been
placed under suspension.
Speaking to media persons
at their office today,
ACC OSD S Hemanta said
that Attendant N Romesh
was charging Rs 400 each
from patients for Ultrasound
screening even though it
should be done free of cost.
The ACC received a
complaint against the unethical
practice of the
Attendant with video evidence
(WhatsApp).
The Attendant has been
placed under suspension to
facilitate further investigation,
Hemanta said.
The ACC has so far received
468 complaints
through WhatsApp, 29 complaints
through
accmanipur.in and 25 handwritten
complaints.
Out of them, 141 complaints
have been referred to
concerned departments for
further investigation.
Reports
have been received for
77 complaints, he informed.
Reports of the 77 complaints
would be tabled at a
meeting of the screening
committee headed by the
Chief Secretary as Chairman.
Generally the
committee hold its meetings
on the first day and 16th
day of a month.
Reports of 15 other cases
were already tabled before
the screening committee.
25 other cases would be tabled before the committee on
May 18, said the OSD.
Most of the complaints received at the ACC lacked concrete
evidence.
As such, authorities were unable to take up
action.
Authorities can definitely take up necessary action if
the complaints are backed by evidence, Hemanta said.
He added that identities of complainants would be kept
secret.
