Moreh, March 15 2020:
Altogether six bandh supporters and five security personnel sustained injuries in a violent confrontation that broke out between the two sides at Moreh town today.
Several civil society organisations have been imposing an indefinite bandh on Moreh-Imphal highway demanding termination of the commando personnel involved in assaulting two civilians near L Phunchong village on March 13 .
Responding to the call of the indefinite bandh, many bandh supporters burnt tyres on roads near Moreh College and Moreh police station today.

In the meantime, a strong police force led by the Tengnoupal DC and the Tengnoupal SP came to the protest sites and attempted to drive away the bandh supporters.
In their efforts to drive away the bandh supporters, police fired several rounds of tear gas shells and the bandh supporters retaliated by pelting stones.
Later, police nabbed three suspected bandh supporters.
Immediately, leaders and representatives of Hill Tribal Council, Kuki Chiefs Association, Moreh Block, Kuki Students Organisation, Kuki Women Union and Human Rights and other Kuki CSOs came and talked with the DC and the SP .
Subsequently, the three suspected bandh supporters detained by police were released and the situation subsided.
However, it is said that the indefinite bandh being imposed on Moreh-Imphal highway would go on as no understanding has been reached with the Government.
The violent confrontation that broke out between the bandh supporters and security forces left six bandh supporters and five security personnel injured.
Moreover, some vehicles of security forces were also damaged during the confrontation.
