9 including 6 women injured in poll related clash at Khangabok Assembly constituency

Imphal, February 15 2017:
At least 9 persons including 6 women were injured in poll related clashed between BJP and Congress workers at around 11 am today morning at Khangabok Assembly Constituency.
Chief Minister Okram Ibobi's son Okram Surjakumar is the congress candidate while Th.Jadumani is the BJP candidate in the constituency.
Report said that the clashed took place after some BJP workers tried to stop a poll related public meeting by congress workers at a ground located in between Khangabok and Sangaiyumpham in Thoubal district.
The report added that a fierce clashed took place between the two groupps of workers by pelting stones towards one another.
Police team which rushed the spot fired several rounds of tear gas shell, mock bombs to control the situation.
Those injured in the clashed are Ningthoujam Biren (50 years), Khundrakpam Sharta (47 years), Thokchom Maipakpi Devi (47 years), Ningthoujam Sangeeta Devi (39 years), Moirangthem Jamini Devi (42 years), , Moirangthem Somorjit (20 years), Moirangthem Binodini Devi (49 years), Moirangthem Romita Devi (33 years) and Laishram Sharmila Devi (48 years).
All are from Khangabok part 2 and part 3.They sustained injuries at hands, legs and other parts of their body.
After providing first aid at Thoubal district Hospital, they were later discharge from the hospital.
Among those injured Biren, Sangeeta, and Jamini are BJP supporters while the remaining are Congress supporters.
