Kohima, Sept 13 (PTI):
Naga students of Manipur have met chief minister S C Jamir and urged him to facilitate affiliation of schools and colleges in Naga inhabited districts of the state to Nagaland Board of School Education and Nagaland University.
A delegation of All Naga Students Association Manipur called on Jamir yesterday and asked him to take up the affiliation issue with the Union human resource development ministry and University Grants Commission, a copy of the representation which was made available to the press said today.
They said 'displaced' Naga students, who left Imphal valley in the wake of the anti-ceasefire agitation, failed to persue their academic carter due to the alleged hostile environment there.
The students were forced to take admission in schools and colleges in Nagaland.
They urged the chief minister to instruct educational institutions in Nagaland to do away with the procedural 'tangles' as such students were unable to produce necessary documents at the time of admission because of the alleged non-cooperative attitude of their previous institutions in Manipur.
