300 students flown home in special flights

Imphal, May 09 2023:
Around 300 students from different states, who are pursuing different courses in Manipur, left Imphal for their respective home states in special flights while around 3000 students are still strand-ed inside Imphal International airport awaiting evacuation.
According to reports received here, there are around 3000 students from outside the state waiting to board their flights to their respective homes.
Reports said that additional flights have been made avail-able by the airline companies for transporting the students to their respective states event as the states concerned have started arranging special flights for their students stranded in Manipur.
Following the communal vi-olence in Moreh town, the life and business of Tamils staying in Moreh have been drastically affected.
A total of 40 houses belonging to the Tamils were burnt down in the violence.
However, condition of the Tamil students has not been much affected by the violence.
The Tam-ils are reluctant to leave Manipur as of now.
Nev-ertheless, the Tamil Nadu government is all set to provide anything neces-sary for them as and when the need arises.
