Five from State clear CS exam

Five candidates from the State have been so far confirmed to have cleared the prestigious Civil Services Examination 2012 conducted by the Union Public Service Commission.
Neilenthang Telien (193 rank), Ngayanhui Zimik (857), K Themreingam Rainam (885), Samuel S Vaiphei (920) and Joel G Haokip (984) have scaled the exam as per a result sheet released by the UPSC today.
The final results of Civil Services Examination, 2012 conducted by the UPSC were announced on Friday.
A total number of 998 candidates have qualified and have been recommended for appointment including 457 General (including 23 physically challenged candidates), 295 Other Backward Classes (including 9 Physically challenged candidates), 169 Scheduled Castes (including 2 Physically challenged candidate) and 77 Scheduled Tribes candidates against 1091 vacancies (550 General, 295 Other Backward Classes, 169 Scheduled Castes and 77 Scheduled Tribes).
Haritha V Kumar from Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala, topped the examination with Sriram V and Stuti Charan coming second and third respectively.
