Principal refutes student's allegations

Heirok Higher Secondary School Principal L Jilla has refuted the allegation made by a student, who came to get admission at the school, that the school charged Rs 50 extra during admission and also the teachers had beat him up.
Speaking to media persons at the school today, Principal Jilla said on September 28 last at 11 am the student came to his office charging that the school is collecting Rs 50 extra during admission into Class XII .
On which the Principal explained to the student that the said amount is for the admission form and the student left after hearing the explanation.
Later, the student after returning two books he had borrowed from the library said he wants to borrow some books for the Class XII .
On which he was told to write down the names of the books he wants to borrow and collect it from the library after sometime, said the Principal narrating what happened on that day.
But the student could not write the names of the books so the Principal had to ask three of his teachers to help the student in finding the books.
The Principal asked the student to wait outside in the meantime as he had other works to attend to.
The student left the room and after sometime they heard a sound of breaking things.
The Principal ran out of his office room to check what had happened and saw the student had broken two computer sets and some chairs.
The police were called in and information was sent to the parents of the student.
The parents told the Principal that the student is mentally challenged and asked for forgiveness.
After hearing the parent's request the case was withdrawn by the police and the matter was resolved.
But on the next day, the student made a complaint with the MSF Thoubal.
So the Principal along with some teachers went to the MSF office and explained the matter to the MSF office.
The teachers did not have to go to the MSF office to explain the matter however all in good faith they went and resolved the issue, the Principal said.
But the student again went to the media with his made up stories and defame the school's name, he said.
The allegations made by the students towards the school are baseless and unfounded stories, the Principal added.
General secretary of the school's students' union Khundongbam Paras said he was there on that day and the allegations raised by the student are all baseless.
He said the student's allegation of him being beaten by the teachers on that day is not true.
The teachers only tried to hold him to make him stop destroying school properties.
Finance secretary of the school's students' union Ningthoujam Sanathoi also said the allegation raised by the student are all baslesess lies.
The press meet was also attended by other teachers of the school.
