On the occasion of his 112th birth anniversary, fitting tributes were paid to communist and revolutionary leader Hijam Irabot all over the State.
The main function of the observance was held at Iboyaima Shumang Leela Shanglen, Hapta Kangjeibung under the aegis of Irabot Celebration Committee.
Earlier, a portrait of Irabot was brought to Hapta Kangjeibung from Irabot Bhavan amidst a procession.

The main feature of the observance was paying of floral tributes to the leader and march past by a number of contingents.
The march past competition participated by 89 contingents started from CC Higher Secondary School.
The function was graced by chairman of control commission, CPI, Manipur State Committee Moirangthem Ibohal, State Secretary Langol Iboyaima and Health and Family Welfare Minister P Parijat as presidium members.
CPI MLAs N Mangi, Dr H Borajao, Dr U Deben, ex-Minister Dr M Nara and other party leaders also attended the function.
Born on September 30, 1896, Irabot was a pioneer communist and revolutionary leader of Manipur.
He was also leading figure in various other fields.
He breathed his last on September 21, 1951 in Myanmar.
In commemoration of Lamyanba Irabot's birth anniversary, lamps were also lit in different parts of the State in the night.
Citizen Club, Soibam Leikai also lit up lamps in the local streets as a mark of respect to the late leader.
Our Jiribam correspondent adds: Offering of floral tributes, presentation of cultural items, rendition patriotic songs and march past by school contingents of the sub-division marked the 112th birth anniversary celebration of Jananeta Hijam Irawat at Jiribam today.
The celebration organised by Jananeta Irawat Memorial Trust was held with president of Irawat Foundation Manipur Th Iboyaima Singh and JIMET president Chandam Kamal as the chief guest and president respectively with ADC (Jiri) Y Iboyaima and Zilla Parishad Member Ph Monteshori Devi gracing the occasion as the guests of honour.
Meanwhile, in collection with the Irawat birth anniversary, members of Leimajam Leikai Maning Nupi Lup lit candles after dusk.
