Imphal, January 31 2020:
The NSCN/GPRN has categorically stated that sovereignty is their birth right and it is non-negotiable.
A statement issued by NSCN/GPRN president Yung Aung on the occasion of the outfit's 40th raising day (January 31) asserted that the outfit was set up with full sovereignty as its firm principle.
The outfit accused both India and Myanmar of forcibly dominating Naga country after their independence apart from committing alleged inhuman atrocities and war crimes against innocent Nagas over the decades.
It also accused both India and Myanmar of following divisive policies to divide the Nagas based on the imposed boundary line and disintegrate the NSCN/GPRN leading to fratricide.
The Naga freedom struggle has come a long way, making it one of the longest armed struggles in the world.
Naga people have paid a heavy price by their sweat, tears and blood in their quest to regain freedom, said the NSCN/GPRN president.
Today, both India and Myanmar have become closer policy-wise, adopting similar strategy and tactics to assimilate and subjugate Nagas politically, economically and culturally.
Their Act East Policy and Look West Policy are two sides of the same coin which are meant to benefit both the countries while subduing the Naga country and the whole WESEA region, Yung Aung said.
The NSCN/GPRN president said that India has been taking a major role in masterminding joint political and military operations with the Tatmadaw, providing all possible logistic support.
India has been utilising Myanmar as a stepping stone to expand and implement her ambition.
In return, Myanmar has received billions of rupees from India, he continued.
"In spite of all these odds, our destiny awaits us", asserted the rebel leader.
Some Nagas, in their confusion are cynical and doubtful of NSCN/GPRN and its struggle.
They speak of uncertainty and impossibility of achieving the Naga sovereignty.
They inject fear and doubt in the minds of fellow Nagas because they fear the future.
However, the hope and prayer of millions of Nagas is stronger than their mere cynicism, the outfit asserted.
The outfit then called upon every Naga to uphold the spirit of oneness and brotherhood and work for a true transformation within the Naga society.
"On my part, I am willing to resolve our past differences and reconcile under his holy banner 'Nagaland for Christ' and based on the fundamental principle of the Naga sovereignty", Yung Aung said.
He then thanked all Naga tribes, apex bodies, hohos, Churches and students for their constant moral, physical and spiritual support.
He further conveyed revolutionary greetings to all the fraternal revolutionary parties and people of WESEA region.
