Review workshops conducted

Review workshops were held today at CHC Wangoi, PHC Samurou and PHC Mayang Imphal regarding management of home isolation patients falling under these health centres.
The review workshops were conducted to reorient the doctors, Community Health Officers, nurses and ASHAs of these centres so as to effectively distribute the right drugs and oximeters within 24 hours, to monitor the patients twice a day for at least 10 days and also to give telephonic advice and to check whether additional medicines are required or not.
The CHO and telemonitoring team has been directed to record SP02 rate, pulse rate and respiratory rate along with other Covid symptoms.
If comorbid conditions like Diabetes, Hypertension etc are present, it should be checked whether the blood sugar level are controlled or not and also to change the medicines accordingly.
Every district has formed its District Home Isolation Treatment Team and they may be contacted to clear any doubts in patient management and the team is being supported by a pool of specialists of the State.
For effective telemonitoring, new SOPs of home isolation has been issued so that the doctors who has been linked to a particular patient will not deal with more than 40 patients.
An Home Isolation Management App has also been launched to monitor the patient's vitals online..
The workshop was conducted by State Home Isolation Team led by Dr Y Premchandra Singh, Deputy Director of Public Health.
It may be noted that there are 2831 active home isolation patients in the State at present.
