Imphal, March 13 2023: Churachandpur Battalion of IGAR (South) conducted a wreath laying ceremony for subedar (late) Sarwar Kumar Rana who made the supreme sacrifice on March 10 in 2009 while battling insurgents at Haijang village in Kangpokpi.

In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that strength of two officers, 13 JCOs and 117 ORs were present at the wreath laying ceremony including Sarwar's rifleman son (GD) Prince Kumar Rana.

The Battalion and Assam Rifles saluted the supreme sacrifice of Sarwan Kumar Rana.

Sehlon Battalion of IGAR (South) also conducted wreath laying ceremony for rifleman (late) Nandan Singh, who got martyred on March 13 in 1961 while battling insurgents in Mon, Nagaland.

Strength of two officers, six JCOs and 42 ORs were present at the ceremony.
