NIA Court grants bail to two accused

Imphal, September 21 2022:
The Court of Special Judge (NIA) Imphal East on Wednesday granted bail to two out of three alleged insurgents arrested by Jiribam Police.
The trio, was produced before the Court on Wednesday with a prayer for remanding them to judicial custody till October 5.Meanwhile, the respective counsels of the three accused submitted their bail applications.
As per the case dossiers, all three of them have been charged with making monetary demands to schools and government offices in the name of a banned outfit, in addition to possessing several documents related to the outfit.
All three accepted the charges levelled against them.
After listening to argu ments of both sides, the court rejected one of the bail applications citing lack of materials supporting the bail plea.
It, however, accepted the bail applications of the other two on execution of PR Bond of Rs 50,000 and surety by a government employee each.
The Court further directed them to be present when summoned by the IO or the Court.
They are to avoid meeting and influencing the prosecution witnesses, and cannot leave the state without the permission of the Court.
