Kakching, September 25 2021:
Joint Non-Government Voluntary Organisation (JNGVO), Kakching has strongly condemned the assassination of Zeliangrong Baudi advisor Athaun Abonmai in a condolence meet held at its office premises at Kakching Ningthou Leikai on Saturday.
Interacting with the media on the sidelines, JNGVO president Kshetrimayum Biren said that the organisation condemns in the strongest term the gruesome murder of Athuan, who preached for hill- val ley unity and integrity of the state.
It was an act of terror, which has no place in a democratic society, he said, while demanding the government to investigate the incident thoroughly and bring to justice all those involved in the assassination.
He also informed that the organisation observed a two-minute silence in honour of the departed soul during the condolence meet held at its office premises.
The meet also appealed to all concerned to set up a public memorial site for the slain leader, he added.
