Imphal, October 06 2022:
North Imphal Sporting Association (NISA) former secretary RK Ninthemsana has been expelled from the primary membership of the organisation for violating its bye-laws, NISA Sub-Committee Thangmeiband chairman Moirangthem Naodalenkhomba has announced.
Briefing the media on Thursday, Naodalenkhomba recounted that NISA was established in 1985 with the members donating Rs 5 each, which was a lot at that time.
On August 21 and 28 of 2019, the then secretary RK Ningthemsana, without informing the Committee, signed a deed with BNB Trading leasing the building of NISA to it.
As per Bye-law Article Clause no 25 of NISA, the responsibility of a secretary is to act only on the decision taken by the general body or managing committee.
In addition, Bye-law Article Clause No 31 empowers the NISA president to sign on important documents, not the secretary, he added.
Furthermore, the securi ty deposit given during the signing of the deed is to be deposited into the SBI account of NISA.
However, it was found that Ningthemsana had misappropriated the money.
Thus, for failing to uphold his duties as secretary of NISA, he has been expelled permanently from the primary membership in accordance with Bye-law Article Clause no 4 (B), Naodalenkhomba explained.
While stating that such wrongful acts by some office bearers are causing the degradation of the Association, Naodalenkhomba urged all to support NISA's belief for truth and its stand to save Thangmeiband.
