44 AR renovates Jadonang Park

As a part of its initiatives under 'Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav' and Swachha Bharat Abhiyaan', 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector AR/IGAR (East) started renovation of Jadonang Park since April 6 onwards and same facility dedicated to the local populace on Wednesday.
According to PRO (Defence), the makeover of park was started by unit troops, by carrying out area cleanliness and garbage removal cum disposal as part of 'Swach Bharat Abhiyaan'.
At the same time, the unit created awareness among masses about the importance of cleanliness.
Taking inspiration from the soldiers, the locals of Tamenglong town joined the cleanliness drive within the park providing an apt example of Jan Bagidhari' for a clean and green world.
Under 'Van Mitra' campaign, the unit carried out weeding and tilling of flower beds and planted new flowers and tree saplings.
The Battalion carried out these campaigns while performing the day to day professional duties, so that a clean hygienic working atmosphere could be created.
The revamped park with repaired walk ways, flower beds and wooden hedges was dedicated to the locals on Wednesday, the PRO added in a release.
