IED recovered, detonated

Imphal, September 25 2021:
Police recovered an IED while an abandoned box caused panic on Saturday.
According to police reports, a 3.5 kg IED was found placed at the market shed of Khongman Okram Chuthek under Irilbung police station around 12:10 am along with a banner denoting the 43rd foundation day of PLA and a star.
The bomb that turned out to be a remote controlled IED was safely removed aromid 3:05 am .
It had 500 gm of RDX, six 15 V batteries, 1.5 kg of nut bolts and nails, one electric detonator, two tin fish cans, one remote control circuit board and 3 metres long wire.
The IED was then exploded at Awa Hill.
Meanwhile, a box suspected to be an IED along with a star was found placed at a culvert near Akampat PHC around 12:20 am.
The box was also removed by State Bomb Disposal Squad around 5:15 am and later found to contain two empty tin fish cans and some wires without any explosive material.
