Council condemns firing on JCBs at Bendramai

The Zeme Naga Council, Senapati Zone on Thursday condemned in the strongest term the firing incident that damaged the windshield of two JCBs on May 31 night.
The incident reportedly happened at Local Ground, Bendramai village around 8 pm.
Although there was no report of human casualty, several bullets were reportedly fired on the two JCBs from sophisticated weapons by unknown miscreants.
The villagers reportedly recovered around 17 empty shells at the spot.
In a condemnation note issued by its president Fui-digwangbe, the Zeme Naga Council termed the incident very unfortunate as it targeted civilians, particularly the Centre Baptist Church.
The church has been hiring the JCBs for the last two months for cutting and levelling for construction of new church building at Bendramai and that the two JCBs do not belong to work agencies, which are presently engaged in, widening of Maram-Peren road (NH-129A) .
The council while condemning the barbaric act in the strongest term asked persons/organisations involved in the firing to come out openly.
The council then urged the law enforcing agency to book the culprit(s) as per law of the land.
