Duty of MLAs to restore peace: Rameshwar

Kakching MLA Mayanglambam Rameshwar has stated that it is our duty as MLAs to work for restoring peace in the state and appealed to the public to extend their support for realisation of the same at the earliest.
Addressing a press meet at Pallel on Monday, Rameshwar said that he has been working with clubs and organisations of Pallel under his constituency to maintain peace in the area.
After hearing that Pallel denizens are living in fear after the violence in Sugnu and Serou area, he has been staying at Pallel since Sun-day to ensure no unwanted incidents occur.
The MLA also thanked organisations, clubs and people of all communities for maintaining peace in the area and asserted that maximum numbers of the MLAs are committed to protect Manipur from adversary elements.
Rameshwar said he will submit a memorandum to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah for upholding territorial and emotional integrity of Manipur.
Meanwhile, Peace Committee Kakching vice chairman Yengkhom Nilachandra informed that a new relief camp has been opened at Victory High School, Kakching on Sunday after the newly displaced people from Sugnu and Serou area could not be accommodated at the relief camp opened at Grace Cottage Academy, Kakchmg.
More such relief camps will be opened for the newly displaced people in coming days, he added.
