Bandh affects normal life in Moreh

Moreh, April 28 2023:
The 24-hr bandh called by the JAC formed in connection with the 'murder' of Seiminthang Lupheng affected normal life in Moreh town, on Friday.
However, the JAC has relaxed the bandh which started from 6 am Friday in Moreh but will continue along NH-102 (Imphal-Moreh) from Saturday.
Meanwhile, Tengnoupal district commissioner has promulgated prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC.
The JAC imposed the bandh in Moreh town demanding authority concerned to nab the culprit (s) involved in the killing of Seiminthang, son of Sehlal Lupho of Canan Veng, Moreh within 24 hours.
All shops and business establishments, banks and educational institutions remained closed during the bandh period as vehicles, both public and private, were barred from plying along the road.
The bandh was relaxed for Lai Haraoba after Meitei Council Moreh president M Thoiba Meitei met with the JAC representatives and came to an understanding.
FoIlowing the development, residents of Moreh bazar performed their ritual activities and Lai Haraoba festival at Ima Kondong Lairembi complex.
