Kakching, June 16 2021:
As normal functioning of shops in Chandel district headquarters Japhou and Chakpikarong Bazar resumed from Wednesday after a long hiatus due to Covid-19 induced curfew, district police carried out a drive to check whether the shop owners and salesmen in the two main markets possess Covid negative certificates or not.
Normal functioning of the shops began from Wednesday following an order issued by DC Mayanglambam Rajkumar on Tuesday, which categorised the shops into two groups and allowed each group to open on alternate days.
However, the duration allowed is only from 7 am till 12 noon and all the shopkeepers as well as salesmen should possess Covid negative certificates, which will have a validity of 15 days, the order stated.
Police team led by Chandel PS OC Potsangbam Surajkumar along with Japhou Bazar Authority members checked Covid negative certificates and adherence to the protocols issued by the district administration.
