Assam Rifles organises COVID-19 awareness drive

Khoupum Battalion pf Assam Rifles under the aegis of Headquarters 21 Sector Assam Rifles and Inspector General Assam Rifles (Past) organised awareness drive at Lubanglong Khunou in Khoupum Valley to instill COVID appropriate behaviour and to educate and empower the locals in fighting the pandemic.
During the campaign, mobile van with loudhailers in local dialect imparted COVID-19 awareness to include importance of regular hand washing, wearing of mask, social distancing, importance of vaccination etc, said a statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
Essential medicines and face masks were also distributed to the locals and the Battalion helpline was also provided to the locals for any help during the pandemic, added the statement.
Adequate and necessary COVID-19 precautions such as social distancing and wearing of masks were observed.
In a similar instance, Tengnoupal Battalion under the aegis of IGAR(South) along with 165 TA promoted covid appropriate behaviour at Khongkhang Village today.
Due to the increasing cases of COVID-19 across the country, the significance of social distancing, proper sanitisation, maintaining hygiene and prompt actions to be taken during emergencies were explained to the villagers, added another statement issued by PRO Assam Rifles.
The event culminated with distribution of sanitizers, masks and ration to villagers.
The village chief highly appreciated the efforts made by Assam Rifles and also requested to continue such assistance in the future.
Jiribam Battalion Assam Rifles udner the aegis of HQ 21 Sector AR and Inspector General Assam Rifles (East) also conducted similar programmes at Kaisel Punji, Bhoumikpara and Jakuradhar.
Around 100 individuals were given awareness on COVID-19 and the importance of vaccination.
