Imphal, August 10 2021:
Decrying the assault of civilians including a pregnant woman who were attending a prayer ceremony at Ichum Keirap Kom on July 17 by some unidentified people, Federation of Haomee said it would be approaching Manipur Human Rights Commission to seek justice.
In a statement, the Federation said that the assault was an inhumane act and the Federation strongly condemns such barbaric act.
Consequent to the incident, a complaint was filed at Keithelmanbi poltee station but police has been remaining silent so far.
A memorandum was also submitted to the chief minister on July 21 in this regard but the home department remains indifferent.
Such silence from the state government creates a sense of suspicion if the government is supporting such crimes indirectly, the statement said.
Taking serious note of inaction by the government, the Federation said that it will seek help from Manipur Human Rights Commission to bring those culprits to justice.
