Demise of artistes mourned

Senapati, August 30 2022: Film Forum Manipur (FFM) condoled the demise of artistes Ningthoujam Ibempishak Devi and Anand Maibam.

In a release, FFM stated that Ibempishak was first woman art director of the state with her Manipuri Feature Film 'Khonjel'.

She was also a dialogue and screenplay writer for films such as 'Paap', 'Khamba-Thoibi' and 'Yeningtha Amada' .

Anand Maibam was co producer/director and made films such as 'Nangi Ashada', 'Angakpa' and 'Khubak khunam' under Megha Films Production, it added.

Meanwhile, Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy (JNMDA) condoled the death of Raas Leela artiste and JNMDA visiting Guru (Raas Sutradhari) Khulem Leipaklotpi Devi on August 28 .

In a release, JNMDA stated that Leipaklotpi Devi was recipient of Manipur State Kala Akademi Award, Sangeet Natak Akademi, New Delhi Award and Manipur Sahitya Parishad Award.

A condolence meeting was held on Tuesday in the presence of JNMDA office staff, faculty members, artistes and students.

The institute also declared half-holiday to mourn her passing away, it added.
