Kakching, July 28 2022:
Denouncing frequent transfer of Kakching District (Integrated Child Development Scheme) Child Development Project Officer (CDPO) and demanding cancelation of the transfer order of the incumbent CDPO K Devananda, a large number of anganwadi workers and helpers staged a sit-in protest in front of Kakching ICDS Project Office on Thursday.
Speaking to media persons, one of the protestors, an anganwadi worker named Laishram Lata informed CDPO Devananda was posted at Kakching ICDS Project in April but after only three months an order for his transfer has been issued.
She informed that in the last three months, the CDPO had taken up various pending works of the Project and has led the district's anganwadi workers and helpers exceptionally, with the Kakching ICDS Project leading in Aadhaar verification in the state.
Lata demanded the authority concerned to revoke the transfer order of the incumbent CDPO and warned that anganwadi workers and helpers are ready to launch more intense forms of agitation if the demand is not honoured.
