Omicron tally reaches 42

Imphal, January 25 2022:
Directorate of Health Services on Tuesday confirmed detection of three more cases of infection by the Omicron variant of Covid-19 in the state, taking the total number of Omicron cases in the state to 42 .
In a release, Health Services director Dr K Rajo Singh informed that all the three people have been discharged after completing their mandatory isolation.
Tracing of close contacts and containment measures are already in place, the director maintained while advising the public to strictly adhere to Covid Appropriate Behaviour and get vaccinated for Covid-19.On December 28, the first case of Omicron variant of coronavirus in the northeast was reported in Manipur.
A 48-year-old man from Imphal West district with travel history to Tanzania was found with Omicron variant after his return from the trip.
