44 non-locals sans ILP passes held

Imphal, October 16 2022:
A combined team of Porompat police station and United Drive Against Anti-Social and Illegal Migrant Committee apprehended 44 non-locals on the charge of possession of expired ILP passes from different parts of Imphal East district on Sunday.
In a release, the Committee informed that the non-locals were rounded up during a joint drive conducted with a Porompat PS team from both residential houses and rented quarters in Minuthong Hatta Golapati area.
The apprehended non-locals have been handed over to Porompat PS for further legal action.
Similar drives will continue to be carried out in the future, the release conveyed.
