Rhino poacher handed over to Assam PS

Churachandpur, July 12 2021:
The Churachandpur police has today handed over a local man who was engaged in poaching the endangered Rhinos at Kaziranga National Park, after it tracked him down following specific input from the Assam Police.
Sources said the SP Golaghat (Assam), Dr Robin Kumar, has intimated about the presence of one Rhino poacher identified as Gouchin V Khamkhopau (35)' r/o Gangpimual village, who was wanted by the Bokahat PS in connection with poaching Rhino there.
The Churachandpur Police teams led by OC-CCP PS under the supervision of Shivanand Surve, SP gathered information about the person and successfully tracked him down.
The accused was picked up by the district police yesterday, after which the Assam Police was informed about his arrest.
Today, a special Police team from Bokahat PS, Golaghat District Assam arrived and took custody of the accused after getting a transit remand from the Court and observing all legal formalities.
