Ningol Chakkouba celebrated in Canada

Imphal, September 30 2021: Manipuri Association of Canada (MAC) in association with Manipuris residing in Ontario, Canada celebrated Ningol Chakkouba, one of the largest Manipuri community's events in Canada on September 26 at Island Lake Conservation Area, in Orangeville, Ontario.

In a release, MAC president Nabakishwor Singh Haobijam informed that they celebrated this ceremony in advance this year considering the unpredictable situation of Covid-19 pandemic.

Due to Covid-19, the annual Ningol Chakkouba event was not organised last year.

Ningol Chakkouba is celebrated annually by diverse families residing across Canada with lots of passion and enthusiasm.

This celebration includes lots of laughs and excitements with a grand traditional cuisine, fun activities, cultural programmes, Tambola (Housie), Karaoke, and of course flaunting the rich traditional dress of Manipur, it added.
