Training prog on mushroom production held

As a part of 'Loumi Singgi Paojel' project, College of Agriculture, Central Agricultural University, Imphal and Digital India Corporation (DIC), New Delhi launched a three-day training programme on low-cost oyster mushroom production at Heirok Part I community hall from Wednesday.
Speaking at the training programme held under the aegis of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, 'Loumi Singgi Paojel' project (agri/horti) agro associate Kenny Thangjam informed that the mam objective of the project is to disseminate timely information about agricultural products and animal husbandry to farmers through mobile phones.
Interested farmers can apply for the project by calling the toll-free number 1900-102-3134, the agro associate continued, while adding that the project covers Imphal East, Imphal West, Thoubal, Bishnupur and Kakching districts.
Interested fanners from other districts can also apply for the project, Kenny said.
The inaugural function of the training programme was attended by All Manipur Progressive Farmers' Association (AMPFA) president Konthoujam Ihoiba Meetei, Heirok Part I GP pradhan Laishram Khamba, Dr Ambedkar awardee Kh (O) Gunamani Leima, DIC state project co-coordinator Tongbram Apran and Indian Solidarity Council, New Delhi associate member Ak Priyokumar as presidium members.
Around 90 farmers from different parts of the state are taking part in the training programme.
