Two arrested in scribe assault case

Imphal, October 16 2022:
Two people, who were allegedly involved in assault of four people including a video journalist of IS Com at Uripok Khaidem Leikai on October 14 using deadly weapons, have been remanded to police custody for five days, while another accused was granted bail.
According to a complaint filed with the police, Keithellakpam Likhomba Mangang and his three friends riding two 2-wheelers were waylaid at Uripok Khaidem Leikai at around 9.45 pm and thrashed by some people who came in four wheelers.
Acting on the report, Imphal Police Station registered an FIR and arrested three people involved in the incident namely Robert Laithangbam (30) son of (L) L Romen of Uripok Sorbon Thingel; Rahul Atom (28) son of A Sonamani Singh of Singjamei Chingamakha Liwa Road; and Chingsomba Khomdram (23) son of Kh Ibobi Singh of Kwakeithel Moirangpurel Nganappi Thong.
The arrested people were produced in front of a duty magistrate on Sunday with Robert and Rahul remanded to police custody for five days, while Chingsomba was granted bail.
