Loktak Battalion pays tribute to brave-heart

Imphal, February 08 2023:
Loktak Battalion of Assam Rifles of Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) organised a solemn 'wreath laying ceremony' for rifleman Anupam Bera at Battalion Headquarters, Kangvai in Churachandpur district on Wednesday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that Anupam Bera got martyred during a counter insurgency operation Silver Strike Two at Theigotang village on February 8, 2007 while serving with the unit.
During the exchange of fire with insurgents, Anupam without concern for his personal safety, moved across in a flash and dashed to his injuries, thereby laying down his life as a supreme sacrifice for the nation.
The commandant of the unit, while laying the wreath, highlighted that gallant actions by soldiers of the force has always been a motivating factor for the Battalion to carry out relentless operations against anti-national elements.
The event was attended by all ranks of the Battalion who paid tribute to the martyred rifleman and remembered his outstanding service to the nation.
Battalion also prayed for the departed soul and observed two minutes of silence on the occasion.
