CPI condemns arrest of party's MP in Telangana

Imphal, May 18 2022:
Manipur State Council, CPI secretary L Sotinkumar has strongly condemned the arrest of CPI national secretary and Rajya Sabha MP Binoy Bisham at Warangal in Telangana state on May 17 by Telangana police.
In a release, Sotinkumar informed that farmers of 21 Telangana state have been protesting since the mid April against the decision of Kakatiya urban development authority to construct ring road through agricultural lands.
MP Binoy Bisham reached Warangal on May 17 to hold talks with the protesting farmers but was immediately arrested by Telangana police, Sotinkumar said.
He also affirmed that CPI will fierce oppose any all policies of the government to occupy lands against the people's will and will not tolerate such anti-people decision in Manipur as well.
