Hojai Meeteis visit sacred sites in state

Imphal, July 13 2022:
A team of Meetei from Hojai, Assam currently in the state to trace their roots met with Moirang Thangjing Lai Committee functionaries and prayed at Ibudhou Thangjing shrine on Wednesday.
The team accompanied by AMUCO assistant secretary Ningthoujam Lokendro had on Tuesday visited Kangla and offered prayer at various sacred sites.
The team is being led by United Manipuri Association and Poirei Leimarol Nupi Lup, Hojai.
Members of Moirang Apun-ba Meira Paibi Ima Lup and Kege Moirang Kendra Apuba Lup accorded warm welcome to the Meetei team from Hojai when they reached Moirang on Wednesday.
Moirang MLA Thongam Shanti also accorded warm welcome to the Hojai Meeteis including some children and honoured them by presenting traditional scarf on their arrival at Moirang.
The MLA also presented some books related with Moirang Kangleirol to the visiting Meetei team from Hojai.
After offering prayer at Ibudhou Thangjing, the team also offered prayer at Khuman Apokpa Apokpi sacred site at Thanga-Karang.
