Death toll rises by 3, positive cases by 49

Imphal, December 24 2020:
The State recorded three more CO VID-19 deaths during the last 24 hours, taking the official death toll to 341 while the positive cases rose by 49 .
Three persons aged 65 (male, Imphal West), 56 (female, Thoubal) and 84 (female, Bishnupur) expired at Shija Hospital, RIMS and JNIMS respectively.
A press release issued by Additional Director (Health) and COVID-19 Common Control Room spokesman Dr Khoirom Sasheekumar Mangang informed that 49 people including one personnel of CAPF were tested positive for the contagion during the last 24 hours.
The new positive cases were detected at JNIMS, RIMS, Imphal West, CMC, Escent Diagnostics, Raj Medicity, Shija Hospital, Bishnupur, Churachandpur and Babina Diagnostics.
The 48 civilians who have been tested positive are residents of Imphal West (20), Imphal East (13), Thoubal (2), Bishnupur (8), Kakching (2), Jiribam (1) and Churachandpur (2) .
All of them are locals who do not have any significant travel history.
On the other hand, 143 COVID-19 positive people were discharged during the last 24 hours from CAPF (33), home isolation (67), RIMS (9), JNIMS (10), Lanva (1), CCC UNACCO (3), Shija Hospital (8), Raj Medicity (1), Kakching (3), Ukhrul (5), Bal Bhavan (1) and Tamenglong (2) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 27,876 (general population 24,536 and Central security personnel 3,340) .
This figure includes 1,362 active cases (general population 1,240 and Central security personnel 122) and 26,173 discharged cases (general population 22,959 and Central security personnel 3,214) .
The recovery rate as on Thursday is 93.89 per cent.
Air passengers who came to the State on December 23 by Indigo flight 6E-457 (Ghy-Imp) and seated in the rows 29, 30 and 31 have been asked to call the common COVID Control room no 18003453818 or respective District Surveillance Officers urgently.
