Lok Sabha Elections: Trial run for counting done at Bishnupur

Bishnupur, May 21 2019:
Bishnupur district administration is ready for counting of votes polled for the 1-Inner Manipur Lok Sabha seat.
The counting of votes will be carried out at the counting centre set up at Multipurpose Hall, Mini-Secretariat campus in Bishnupur on May 23.A trial run of the counting of votes by trained polling personnel was carried out today.
Deputy Commissioner Pawan Yadav said that the required communication system as well as software is already installed for the counting of votes.
He further informed that the district administration is all set for the smooth conduct of the counting process.
Watertight security system has been arranged, he said.
The Deputy Commissioner, who is also the District Electoral Officer, also stated that no individuals will be allowed to enter into the counting cell.
Carrying and use of mobile phone is also prohibited in the counting cell.
Separate counting cells will count the votes cast in the Nambol, Oinam, Bishnupur, Thanga, Moirang and Kumbi AC fragments under the district.
The counting agents will not be allowed to enter other counting cells except their own counting cells.
Further, three-fold security measure is arranged in the counting campus deploying paramilitary forces and civil police battalions.
No vehicle movement will be allowed from 7 am towards the Mini-Secretariat campus from Teddim Road on the counting day.
The counting of votes cast in the 6 ACs will be done in 14 counting tables.
The votes in the EVMs and the records of each vote in the VVPATs will be counted separately.
