Letpao Haokip inspects NSU site

IFCD & YAS Minister Letpao Haokip today inspected various ongoing projects in the State including the site for the proposed National Sports University at Koutruk .
The Minister, accompanied by Parliamentary Secretary (IFCD) Rameshwor Meetei, Parliamentary Secretary (YAS & Edn) K Robindro, Parliamentary Secretary (RD& PR) and MLA of Sekmai AC Heikham Dingo Singh, inspected Singda Dam, site for National Sports University at Koutruk and Dolaithabi Barrage Project.
Expressing displeasure over the poor maintenance of Singda Dam, Letpao Haokip instructed officials of IFCD to take up beautification works at Singda Dam like putting up of a monogram, repairing of railings and fixing of chequered tiles on the footpath.

Inspecting the site for the National Sports University at Koutruk, Letpao Haokip said that land measuring an area of 400 acres has been made available for the sports university against the required land area of 325.90 acres.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation of the sports university any time soon.
The Minister and his entourage also inspected the approach road of the university site from Koutruk to Pheidinga via Loitang Khullen.
While inspecting the construction of Dolaithabi Barrage Project, the Minister said that about 96 percent of the construction works has been completed.
The construction could not progress as per plan due to bandh/blockade.
He said that it would take about two and a half months to complete the project's tunnel.
He also urged the contractors concerned to work sincerely and ensure timely completion of their respective works in public interest.
H Deleep Singh, Commissioner (YAS), Ksh Pritam Singh, Chief Engineer, IFCD; K Kirti, SE, Thoubal Circle-II and Songput W Albert, SE, Irrigation Circle-II and other officials of IFCD and YAS also accompanied the Minister, conveyed a press release issued by DIPR.
