Labourer rescued

A labourer who was allegedly abducted by some unidentified armed persons in connection with a monetary demand has been rescued by Bishnupur District Police.
Briefing media persons at Bishnupur District Police Hqs this afternoon, Additional SP (Law & Order) Th Vikramjit said that one Md Nasir Khan (30) s/o late Kamaruddin of Kwakta Terakhongsangbi who was engaged in the construction work of a Primary School at Borayangbi-Badarpur under Kumbi police station was abducted by three unidentified armed persons at around 4.30 pm yesterday.
On receiving information about the abduction, district police launched search operations in many suspected areas including Napat, Tangjeng and Kasom Tampak, Vikramjit said.
The search operations which were also participated by the OC's of Kumbi P/S and Sugnu P/S went on throughout the night.
Eventually, Nasir Khan was rescued from an uninhabited area at around 4.30 this morning.
It would pre-mature at the moment to disclose which UG group was responsible for the abduction of Nasir Khan, Vikramjit added.
