PM committed to a modern Manipur: Ram Madhav

BJP National General Secretary as well as North East in-charge, Ram Madhav has claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi led NDA Government is giving priority to bringing development to Manipur as well as transforming it into a modern State as a part of the Act East Policy.
He made the statement during a felicitation programme of newly elected Lok Sabha MP Dr RK Ranjan which was organised at MFDC hall, Palace Compound today, under the aegis of BJP Manipur State unit.
Ram Madhav continued that due to the belief of the people in the diverse and multiple initiatives taken up by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Government for the common people and farmers during the last five years, the country has elected him and the party again.
He then claimed that due to the support of the people and their belief in Narendra Modi's vision for a developed and new India, Modi will become the longest running Prime Minister in the country.
Stating that the BJP will take up a large number of projects to transform Manipur into a modern State as a part of the Act East policy, the BJP National General Secretary said that steps will be taken up to turn Imphal into a transport hub while Moreh will become the country's gateway to South East Asia.

On the other hand, mocking the Congress that it can't even become the leader of the Opposition in the Parliament, he said that the party (Congress) was not able to capture more than 45 seats.
The Congress does not have anyone qualified to be Prime Minister, he mocked.
Due to the love and support of the people of Manipur, the State now has BJP MPs in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, he added.
On the other hand, speaking at the event, Chief Minister N Biren appreciated the people for supporting BJP and ensuring that the Congress candidate was defeated by the BJP candidate even though the Congress had been in power in the State for a long time in the past, while the BJP is relatively new.
He said that the BJP winning the recent Lok Sabha election by getting 90 percent more votes than the Congress shows that love and support of the people to Narendra Modi and the party.
Explaining that he joined BJP believing in the One Nation theory and the party's ability to strengthen Manipur, Biren said that peace prevails in Manipur as many State issues were properly deliberated and solved at the National level.
Biren continued that most of the politicians in BJP are not experienced or veteran politicians but the unity and dedication of the said politicians have resulted in peace and harmony between the hills and the valley region of the State.
The attempt by some people with vested interest to divide the State, has been successfully thwarted by BJP, he added.
Biren also urged the BJP National General Secretary to ensure that MP Dr RK Ranjan is inducted into the Union Cabinet.
On the other hand, Works Minister Th Biswajit said that there might be some misunderstanding and difference of opinions among the members of the party but the party will still work in the interest of the people.
Every Government will have its shortcoming but it can all be solved with proper deliberation and cooperation, he added.
He then urged Dr RK Ranjan to ensure that the failure to properly utilise the MP fund in the time of the Congress, is not repeated now.
CAF&PD Minister Karam Shyam expressed desire for the Ministers to work in the interest and welfare of the common people.
On the other hand, Rajya Sabha MP and BJP State unit president K Bhabananda said that it i necessary for the party to work hard to get more votes in the next election.
He continued that work will begin for the election of a State unit president of BJP soon and it is high time for the party to work towards the necessary preparation for the said election as well as the Assembly election.
Speaking at the event, Dr RK Ranjan expressed gratitude to the people for voting for him and assured to work in the interest of the people without fail.
He also said that he will ensure projects and schemes proposed by the State Government to the Centre gets due approval.
