Imphal, November 01 2021:
Former general secretary administration of All India Trinamool Congress, RK Priyobarta from Wangkhei Assembly Constituency has joined the Congress party today.
A reception programme to welcome RK Priyobarta was organised at BT road office of Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee (MPCC) in the presence of key functionaries of the party.
Speaking at the occasion, MPCC president, N Loken has categorically stated BJP is a party only good in publicity not on ground.
Saying that the achievements the party has been claiming is mere talk among themselves, he said the people know well what the Government led by the BJP has done in the hills and valley during 4 and 7 months of their tenure.
As the term for a Government is 5 years, the people are showing restraint and maintaining silence, he said and called upon people to choose right candidates other than those good in rhetoric and giving hollow promises.
N Loken went on to say that the development the State had seen during Congress 15 years rule under the leadership of Okram Ibobi will remain indescribable.
On the present Government's claim of enhanced relationship between the hills and valley people, N Loken questioned whether there was enmity between the hills and valley people during Ibobi Singh led Government's rule.
There was no hostility between hills and valley people, except a tussle between Ibobi's leadership and an armed outfit, he reasoned and reminded that the Congress secured 7 seats in the hill districts in the 2017 State Assembly election.
Instead of blowing their own trumpet, the BJP should now concentrate on counting how many seats they may win in the State Assembly election due to be held in the early part of next year, the MPCC president said.
Questioning how many significant projects the present Government has brought to the State, he also asked whether development in hills means constructing some market sheds worth some crores.
The Government has been doing all so-called development works only on paper and as people clearly know what they have been doing, their spell of empty promises and development will be tested in the forthcoming State Assembly election, he said.
He further said that Narendra Modi who is at the helm of the Central Government is an expert in renaming old schemes and thus the same happens in the State too.
Questioning how many of the schemes launched have benefited the State people, N Loken also dared BJP to come up with only 5 schemes which have really impacted the people of Manipur.
