Imphal, January 30:
Three houses located in Kakhulong, Paona Keithel were completely razed to the ground by an inferno that reportedly broke out from explosion of LPG cylinder.
Though there was no human casualty in the fire, properties worth lakhs of rupees have been lost.

The devastating fire broke out at about 11.15 am today.
It started from a leaked LPG cylinder.
The leaked cylinder caught fire when one Athoilu was cooking food in the kitchen and within seconds it spread to the neighbouring rooms with soaring flames.
Athoilu is a tenant staying at the wooden house at Kakhulong Kabui Khul.
The fire soon engulfed the two adjacent wooden houses belonging to Meikema Haomei and Manijao.
Meikema also lost a PCO stall he ran at his house.
The roaring fire then crossed over to a three-storeyed RCC building belonging to one Thambalngou.
Besides the windows of the building, a room built at the top floor with wood was also reduced to cinders.
In addition to a little delay in giving information about the fire, fire tenders of the Manipur Fire Service were greatly impeded in rushing to the site by the ongoing work for the Imphal Sewerage project.
The fire tenders could reach the site only after several houses have been substantially burnt by the inferno.
Even as three fire tenders were pressed into service besides drawing water from Nambul river using water pumps, the inferno completely consumed the three wooden houses and all the articles kept inside.
Not long after the fire broke out, two other LPG cylinders also burst out.
The devastating fire which razed on for more than an hour was finally put under control at about 12.30 pm.
Police personnel and local residents of the area also joined the fire tenders in their efforts to put out the fire.
But on the other hand, a large number of people who lined up the road to watch the devastating spectacle caused traffic jam on the road stretch from Keishampat junction to Wahengbam Leikai.
