Imphal, September 28 2015:
A 37 year old man who was returning home after taking part in a tombola draw was abducted and thrashed mercilessly by some unidentified persons before he had a providential escape.
The victim identified as Yaikhom Boycha (37) s/o Brajabihari of Uripok Bachaspati Leikai was abducted by four persons from North AOC at around 10.30 pm yesterday and they took him towards Nongmaiching hills in a red car.
Speaking to media persons at Manipur Press Club this afternoon, Boycha said that he was returning home after taking part in a tombola draw at Singjamei when he was rounded up by four persons who were then sipping beer at North AOC and taken toward Nongmaiching hills in a red car.
Inside the car, the abductors told Boycha that he was the man they had been looking for.
They also charged him of being an activist of KCP.

From Porompat, two other armed persons followed the car on a Honda Activa scooter.
The six persons took Boycha atop a hill and there they thrashed him black and blue.
As Boycha sensed that they had a intention to kill him, he jumped down a shallow gorge and ran for his life.
After running for some distance, Boycha came across a fish farm.
Some people who were present at the fish farm gave him a half-pant and a shirt.
As suggested by the strangers, Boycha changed clothes, climbed up a high hill and spent the night atop the hill.
At dawn, he descended the hill and came up to Porompat in a passenger auto-rickshaw.
After travelling up to DM College gate in a passenger Tata Magic van, Boycha eventually reached home, he recounted.
He also showed bruises and wounds inflicted by merciless thrashing by the six assailants.
Boycha's wife Abe said that her husband was not connected with either UG groups or security forces.
He is an innocent pharmacist, she asserted.
She urged the assailants to identify themselves and explain why her husband was subjected to such a deadly assault.
