Imphal, April 27 2016:
All Manipur College Teachers' Association (AMCTA) has said that it is ready to launch a stir if the Manipur Higher and Technical Education Code, 2016 is not rectified.
In a statement, the association said that the Code was developed by Higher and Technical Education Administrative Department and it is ready to be sent to the State Cabinet for approval.
The association alleged that the Code not only contains many biased Clauses but also has many anti-teacher, unconstitutional and undemocratic words.
It further alleged that the Code was drafted by one or two officers to fulfil the interest of a few individual.
The status of higher education in the State would see degradation if the said Code is approved by the State Cabinet, the association said.
The association is deliberating the issue at its different units phase wise, the statement said and added that the association would take support from like-minded organisations as well in this regard.
