Biren, Tikendra leave for Delhi: Ministry reshuffle likely on menu

Imphal, September 21 2020:
Chief Minister N Biren and BJP Manipur Pradesh president S Tikendra left Imphal for Delhi today at the invitation of BJP National president JP Nadda.
Sources informed that the Chief Minister and the party's State unit president may discuss about Ministry reshuffle and some other matters related to the party with BJP Central leaders, and they were accompanied by MLA RK Imo.
Talking to this reporter over phone from Delhi, Prof S Tikendra said that they went to Delhi at the invitation of BJP National president.
He maintained they have no idea about the exact reason for inviting them to Delhi.
Yet, he informed that they have been seeking appointment with many BJP Central leaders including Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
However, sources informed that N Biren, Prof S Tikendra and BJP Central leaders are likely to discuss about reshuffling the Council of Ministers and selection of candidates for the forthcoming by-election.
The question of Ministry reshuffle has been already approved by the BJP Central leaders.
Significantly, BJP National vice-president Bijaiyant Panda and BJP North East in-charge Ajay Jamwal visited Imphal on September 14 .
During his stay at Imphal, Bijaiyant Panda held a meeting with Governor Dr Najma Heptulla.
Prof Tikendra informed that he and N Biren held a meeting with BJP National president JP Nadda, general secretary (organisation) BL Santhosh, National secretary Ram Madhav and North East in-charge Ajay Jamwal this evening on organisational matters of the party.
The meeting also discussed about the present political situation of Manipur, dissent within the party and the forthcoming by-election.
Although the question of Ministry reshuffle too figured at the meeting, no concrete decision was adopted, Tikendra further conveyed.
It is said that Chief Minister N Biren may return to Imphal tomorrow though it is not yet clear when Tikendra may return.
