State agrees to talk at Delhi

Imphal, January 21 2017:
The State Government has intimated the Central Government that it is agreeable to hold a tripartite talk at Delhi involving the UNC and Central Government over the protracted issue of economic blockade.
Following the UNC's insistence to hold the tripartite talk at Delhi or a Naga district, the Central Government forwarded the UNC's condition to the State Government.
Subsequently, the State Government took a decision to hold the tripartite talk at Delhi and the same decision has been conveyed to the Central Government.
Even as the State Government earlier scheduled the tripartite meeting at Imphal on January 23, a new date would be fixed for the tripartite talk would now be held at the initiative of the Ministry of Home Affairs.
The UNC set three conditions for the tripartite talk.
They are; the talk should be held at Delhi and its agenda should be the creation of the seven new districts, and the UNC delegation should be led by arrested president Gaidon Kamei.
